# Here's Why Everyone's Suddenly Shopping for a New Risk Platform

Talk to enough risk and claims teams and a pattern starts to repeat itself. Ask "how are you handling claims today?" and you'll get some version of the same answer: a system held together with duct tape, Excel, and hope.

Here's what's coming up over and over in conversations with risk and claims leaders right now the five reasons companies are actively looking for a platform like Aclaimant.

 

## 1. Nobody has one source of truth; so everyone's chasing carriers instead of managing risk

This is the loudest, most common complaint on the board. Claims teams aren't drowning in claims, they're drowning in *systems*.  One prospect even joked that on the claims side we decided to name every carrier under the sun, so we have to go to five different systems to see what's going on.

## 2. Leadership wants trends. The team can barely produce a status update.

Every risk team has a "corner office" asking for trend reporting, and almost none of them can deliver it without a week of manual spreadsheet archaeology.  We're hearing that risk leaders are barely able to produce trackability, but reporting and trending is beyond reach right now.  They just don't have the time, data structure or systems.

## 3. Incidents get reported, just not completely, not consistently, and not in time

It's not that people aren't filling out forms. It's that the forms don't force anyone to actually finish the job before the evidence disappears.  There's a race amongst risk managers to get information and gather evidence before the information gets lost forever.

## 4. The incumbent system wasn't built for how the business actually runs

This shows up constantly in calls with companies that have outgrown or simply outlasted their legacy platform.

We're hearing that legacy systems haven't changed in ten years, and most buyers aren't sure if they were actually built for what they want to do today.

## 5. Broken workflows are quietly eating hours every single week

Sometimes it's not even a strategic gap; it's a dumb, fixable bug that's become a permanent part of someone's job description.  Team members have just accepted broken is the way it is, duplicating effort in network drives or downloading and sending files because they know "it just won't work"

## The pattern

Strip away the industry jargon and every one of these calls is describing the same failure: risk and claims data is scattered across carriers, inboxes, spreadsheets, and network drives, and the people responsible for managing it are stuck doing manual reconciliation instead of managing risk. That's not a training problem or a discipline problem. It's a tooling problem  and it's exactly the gap Aclaimant exists to close.
